Welcome to Hingham, Montana

Hingham was known as the “best town” on the Hi-Line in the early days. It was a shipping and storing station for grain and stock. In 1909, Peter Carrier brought the Great Northern Railroad, bought real estate and developed a town. By 1912, Dr. Arthur Husser came to the area and opened a drug store and hospital. The first post office was established in 1910 with Peter Carrier in charge as postmaster.
