2008 RiverFest

2008 RiverFest is an annual festival held along the scenic Missouri River in Great Falls, promising a day filled with fun, food, warm weather, entertainment and celebration. The celebration is Saturday from 12:00pm - 9:00pm. And it's FREE to the public!

Free activities will include sea planes, canoeing and kayaking demonstrations on the River, musical entertainment, an arts and crafts show and sale, skate boarding demonstrations, concessions and a beer garden, hands-on activities for all ages, children's activities including face painting, hair coloring, art projects, games and more, petting zoo and pony rides, NorthWestern Energy bucket truck rides, large equipment displays and demonstrations provided by the Fire Department, Public Works, MAFB and MANG. Also enjoy reduced admission of $6.00 to the Electric City Water Park for all ages from 11:00am to 6:00pm. There is truly something for everyone.

Activities designed to celebrate the arts include:
* 2 Outdoor stages featuring live musical performances with national and local talent.
* Outdoor arts show and crafts sale.
* Hands-on activities presented by several area museums.
* Musical entertainers along the River’s Edge Trail.

Activities highlighting the community and region include:
* Sea plane demonstrations in cooperation with Holman Aviation and the Montana Sea Plane Pilots Assoc.
* Skateboard competition.
* Kayak demonstrations and instructions
* Water sports demonstrations.
* Children's activities.
* Outdoor concessions and beer garden.
* Bucket Truck rides provided by NorthWestern Energy.
* Displays and demonstrations by City of Great Falls Public Works Department and Fire Department, Malmstrom Air Force Base and Montana Air National Guard.
* Electric City Water Park including the Flow Rider (ride the surf and float the lazy river), Mitchell Pool, Soak Zone, water slides; open 11:00am - 6:00pm with a special admission of $6.00 for all ages.
* Montana Cup - Human Powered Boat Race
* Dare Duck Race

RiverFest will be held along the Missouri River on River Drive. The Festival will go from Sight and Sound Park on River Drive, north towards 9th Street South to Elk's Riverside Park.
